One of the latest headlines at The Onion, a publication known for its humorous satire, is this — “Estée Lauder Expedition Stumbles Upon Frozen Remains Of Previous Party Sent To Retrieve Rare Moisturizing Herb In The Himalayas.”

As an attempt to call out the great lengths a beauty company will go to when sourcing ingredients, the story explains the team “sought to obtain samples of the rare herb, which is said to possess anti-aging properties so powerful it can instantly rejuvenate the driest and most wrinkled skin.”

The story “reveals” that the remains of a failed 1961 expedition discovered,  “…four human bodies completely encrusted in a thick layer of ice, as well as a campsite littered with oxygen tanks, broken ice picks, and empty tins of lip balm.”

The story continnues to report, “Tragically, they all froze to death just a few feet away from the secret to beautiful, radiant skin.”

The Onion also includes mention of Neutrogena, L’Oreal, Olay and Jergens — read it here.
